Weekend in Review

Whew! What a weekend.

During a weekend where I should have been writing my thesis, writing my media law paper, finalizing my public opinion survey, designing invitations, reading three books, designing logos and websites for two clients and working on a marketing plan….I instead:

– went to a concert, had dinner with Jason, went to a birthday party, watched football ALL day, watched two movies, slept late and ate sushi.

I know you’re thinking…”But Stephanie, those lists are completely opposite from each other.” And yes, I agree, but it was a wonderful weekend (even though I’m playing catch up now).

The main highlight was Friday night concert: Patty Griffin. Some of you may have never heard of Patty Griffin, but I discovered her in college during the “months of which we do not speak” aka mine and Jason’s breakup. And have loved her ever since.

Here is probably one of her more famous songs:

It was a GREAT concert at Manship Theatre. I would also recommend downloading “Let Him Fly,” which she didn’t song (sadface), but is my favorite of hers.

Jason was a great sport to come along to what I described as “Alanis Morissette, Jewel and Joni Mitchell had a baby, and that baby is Patty Griffin.” Probably not his typical style of music, but a good husband nonetheless to come along 🙂

  1. Two obnoxious sister things to point out –

    1. You are violating all kinds of media law and ethics by posting this, but also so very social media hip by doing so 🙂

    2. Alanis Morrissette, Jewel and Joni Mitchell having a baby would be quite a feat of nature, but it should would make a great musician (and describes your music taste – especially during “the months of which we do not speak” perfectly).

Love you and the fact that you had some rest this weekend. Good luck playing catch up!

P.S. – Send me your media law paper if you need an extra editor.

  2. There’s great merit in getting things done, but oh! It sure is easier to get ’em done with a little downtime between/throughout. The prospect of a five-day weekend only six working days from now is what’s keeping me not only going but actually smiling. 🙂
